  Flash Wheels
Calumet Birmingham

Calumet is looking for fifteen fit photographers to join Tim Wallace one of the world's top car shooters for the NEW and IMPROVED 'Flash Wheels' seminar day to be held at the Land Rover Experience near Birmingham this spring.

Tim Wallace, an acclaimed, award-winning car photographer, will head this two day educational seminar on 20th and 21st April.

This exclusive event is supported by Hasselblad, Profoto, Epson and onOne and will offer professional photographers, aspirational amateurs and car enthusiasts a chance to learn the basics of quality automotive photography in the seminar room and on location.

This is a perfect opportunity to learn from the master. Tim works with many blue-chip names in the industry, including Aston Martin, Jaguar and Vitesse Supercars and on this special 'Flash Wheels' seminar he will demonstrate how to capture stunning car images both static form and in action on off-road tracks.

Delegates should have at least basic photo-skills and will also need to be reasonably fit as there is some steep gradient walking involved.

The cost of the Flash Wheels seminar (10am to 5pm) is £400 including VAT.
Lunches will be provided.

Epson will also supply one free finished digital print to each photographer at the end of the day.

Schedule:

Day 1 - Capture
The first day is mainly about the opportunity to take images in locations that provide excellent opportunities for photography. Tim and the vendors are on hand to be able to help and guide you through the day. There is an information session at the start of the event during which time our Tim will guide you through the key aspects that you need to know to capture successful images.

Tim will be hosting a complete lighting setup from scratch out on location and then shoot it as he would on the latest Hasselblad , after this he will then be giving those that wish to a chance to try and also look at changing lighting etc.

Tim will cover a variety of subjects throughout the day including:

  • Elements of car photography
  • What it takes to be a competent car photographer
  • The environment and how it impacts on mood
  • DSLR versus medium format capture
  • Shooting styles
  • Shooting car to car

There is also a range of equipment available on the day to try, although this is limited so is strictly on a first come first served basis.

  • The New Digital Purest - Addressing today's views that digital is not pure photography, how photography has evolved to lead us to what we use now, also how this measures against older techniques and how these traditions of the past can be transposed into shooting today.
