The Tri-Lite III is the latest version of the best-selling Tri-Lite continuous lighting unit. It uses low-temperature, flicker-free 30w fluorescent lamps to produce even and controllable lighting. The Tri-Lite creates a smooth, directional light that his particularly suitable for digital photography and those using simple cameras for Web photography.
This unique continuous light source utilizes a specially designed fluorescent lamp to produce a cold, daylight-balanced illumination that is directional. Although there are a number of multilamp cold fluorescent models available on the market, none but the Tri-Lite offers directional abilities. The combination of the three 30w tungsten lamps with their bright efficient reflector gives the Tri-Lite the directional abilities of a normal reflector-type lamp with the advantages of cool operation that only a fluorescent light source can offer. The light output of the Tri-Lite is the equivalent of 275w of tungsten light. When used close to a subject, this will produce a significant level of illumination. Since the light itself is a cold source, it can be used to shoot any subject that may be affected by the high levels of heat associated with a tungsten lamp, such as food. The Tri-Lite is perfect as a low-cost continuous light source for digital scanning and single-capture cameras. The Tri-Lite includes three lamps, an opal diffuser, a high-intensity reflector and an adjustable stand bracket.
