The Equipe combines the high power potential of a studio flash with the portability of a location lighting system. In the studio, Equipe delivers large amounts of power using the robust Studio Hi-Lite lamp head. On location, the alternative Equipe Mini Head handles the full 2400w/s output of the Equipe system but measures just 21 x 9cm and weighs 0.8kg.
The generator itself can run up to four lamp heads. The output can be symmetrical with the total power of the pack available through a single head for maximum light output. Alternatively, the output can be divided into two pairs of independently controllable head sockets for maximum flexibility.
A key feature of the Equipe generator system is its ability to work as a generator of not one but three power levels. By having three different levels of maximum power, the Equipe maintains the best possible recycling speeds, flash duration and color consistency. Since the control can then be varied steplessly from full to 11/4 8-power, the Equipe Generator can be set to any power over a six f-stop range.
All Equipe generators feature an audible recharge system as well as a switchable photo cell. Modelling lamps can be set to full power in proportion to the power selected or turned off and can also be set to extinguish during recycling to give a visual indication when the unit is ready to fire.
