This 27" widescreen monitor comes with an abundance of performance and color control features making it ideal for graphic design, video editing, CAD/CAM, and digital photography.
The FlexScan SX2761W reproduces 96% of the Adobe RGB color space so it can display most colors in a photograph taken in Adobe RGB mode. Furthermore, it has an sRGB mode to accurately reproduce this narrower but commonly used color space. This ensures that colors meant for sRGB such as those used on web pages and any photos taken with a digital camera’s sRGB mode will be reproduced on the screen as intended.
Comes quipped with EIZO’s latest integrated circuit which has a 12-bit look-up table with a color palette of 68 billion colors from which the most appropriate 16.7 million (8-bits) are displayed. It also features 16-bit internal processing for smooth display of grayscale tones, especially in dark areas of an image which typically are difficult for LCD monitors to display without banding.
Uniformity errors usually seen as brighter or darker areas on the screen are characteristic of LCD panels. A Digital Uniformity Equalizer (DUE) function corrects brightness and chroma uniformity errors so they are virtually unnoticeable.
EIZO’s BrightRegulator function, which optimizes the screen brightness in accordance with the ambient light, has been improved for even better performance. Whereas BrightRegulator previously used one user-determined reference point for adjusting brightness, it now uses two; one for bright and one for dark ambient luminance. This allows the monitor to more accurately achieve the desired brightness in both brightly and dimly lit rooms.
To avoid creating inconveniences and even dangers for those with color vision deficiency, care must be taken when choosing color schemes for everyday items such as maps, road signs, web sites, and power indicator lights. A new user-oriented design system called “Color Universal Design” (CUD) has been developed to resolve this issue. In CUD, color schemes are based on what can easily be identified by people with all types of color vision rather than what is aesthetically pleasing. This monitor simulates color vision deficiency and is certified as a CUD compliant product by the Color Universal Design Organization (CUDO) of Tokyo, Japan.
This monitor simulates* two types of red-green color vision deficiency – protanopia and deuteranopia. All the color conversion processing is done in real time – even moving images. With the bundled UniColor Pro software (Windows Vista/XP/2000 and Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later only) – also developed by EIZO – the designer can instantly switch from a normal viewing mode to the Protanopia and Deuteranopia viewing modes. Until now, tools available for simulating color vision deficiency have been software based so the color conversion process can be time consuming depending on the size and quantity of images to be converted, making these tools of limited practical use.
For digital photo enthusiasts, a special “EIZO Edition” of the popular digital photo editing software Zoner Photo Studio 9 is bundled. This software takes the user through the whole process of managing and editing digital photos, and includes color management features to achieve true colors on screen and on paper. (Compatible with Windows Vista/XP/2000/ME/98 only.)
The OSD menu offers adjustment of brightness, gamma, saturation, hue, gain and color temperature from 4,000 K to 10,000 K in 500 K increments. For fine-tuning of even a single color, the hue and saturation settings for red, green, blue, cyan, magenta, and yellow can be adjusted independently.
For optimum viewing of different kinds of content, EIZO’s Fine Contrast function includes modes for office applications (Text mode), video clips (Movie mode), graphics (Picture mode), web browsing (sRGB mode), and user-defined settings (Custom mode). Switching between modes is done by pressing a button on the front panel or by using the bundled ScreenManager Pro for LCD software, which supports automatic mode switching such as changing to Text mode when an e-mail application is selected.
This one upstream, two downstream hub facilitates high speed (480 MB/s) connections with other USB peripherals.
Panel can be removed from its stand and mounted on VESA-compliant arms or stands.
Ensures stable brightness - necessary for the proper display of color – with EIZO patented technology. A drift correction sensor quickly stabilizes the brightness level after startup or coming out of power saving mode. Furthermore, the monitor detects and automatically compensates for brightness changes caused by surrounding temperatures and the passage of time.
