The
new ColorEdge 'CE' series offer a simple calibration interface with
adjustment of brightness, white point, and gamma. They also feature
high contrast ratios and fast midtone response times in a widescreen
format. (Please note that a calibration device is optional.) This EIZO-developed software comes bundled with ColorEdge CE
models and offers 10-bit hardware calibration when used with a
GretagMacbeth, X-Rite, or ColorVision measurement device. The wide screen format with its 16:10 aspect ratio offers more
horizontal viewing space than conventional monitors. Two applications
such as a text document and web browser can be viewed side-by-side, or
graphics applications can be opened and work palettes displayed
simultaneously without any overlap. To ensure that each ColorEdge CE monitor produces the most
accurate and consistent colour gradations possible, EIZO carefully
measures and sets every shade of R, G, and B from 0 - 255 on the
production line with the monitor's 10-bit Look-Up Table (LUT), to
produce a monitor gamma value of 2.2. Should the user prefer a
different value, the LUT can be used to calculate for values ranging
from 1.8 (the standard for the printing industry) up to 2.6. 14-Bit Color Processing
EIZO's powerful new ASIC (application specific integrated circuit)
provides 14-bit colour processing capability for smooth, accurate
grayscale and colour rendering even in darker tones, which are
typically difficult for LCD monitors to reproduce accurately. To enhance moving image playback capabilities, an overdrive
circuit is included. Used with many LCD TVs, an overdrive circuit
vastly improves the LCD panel?s response time for changing between
midtones or gray levels, which is necessary to display colour images
without blurring. This outstanding contrast performance makes images on dark
backgrounds appear more vivid and ensures that colours retain their
richness even in brightly lit rooms. Extensive colour control allows the precise adjustment of even
a single colour in an image. You can independently adjust hue and
saturation for each primary (red, green, blue) and secondary (cyan,
magenta, yellow) color. Fine Contrast lets you "fine-tune" the image for the type of
application being used. It includes three modes: sRGB, Custom
(user-defined settings), and CAL (for ColorNavigator CE calibration
software) which can be selected via a handy button on the front
bezel. This EIZO-developed stand provides an arc-shaped range of
movement so the screen can be positioned up high near eye level or
lowered at an angle akin to reading a book for a more natural viewing
posture. This one upstream, two downstream hub facilitates high speed
(480 MB/s) connections with other USB peripherals. Ensures stable brightness - necessary for the proper display
of color - with EIZO patented technology*. A drift correction sensor
quickly stabilizes the brightness level after startup or coming out of
power saving mode. Furthermore, the monitor detects and automatically
compensates for brightness changes caused by surrounding temperatures
and the passage of time.*Japan Patent Numbers 3171808 and 3193315; US
Patent Number 6188380. 5 Year Warranty*. The product shall be free from defects in material and
workmanship for a period of five (5) years, but subject to the usage
time being 30,000 hours or less from the date of purchase.
