The Olympus µ (mju) 810 delivers cutting-edge
technology in an ultra-compact, weatherproof*, stainless
steel body that is resistant to water, dust and snow.
Performing as good as it looks, users benefit from a
precision 3x zoom lens and can call on 8.0 million
pixels for images that sparkle with sharpness and
detail. Furthermore, thanks to BrightCapture Technology,
outstanding results are assured – even in low light
situations. Framing in the dark is also made easy with
an exceptionally bright LCD. And the µ (mju) 810 even
has a solution to image blur by easily compensating for
the negative effects of camera shake.
Boasting the smallest body in its class, it’s hard to
imagine how Olympus has managed to pack so much
technology inside the µ (mju) 810. It snugly fits into
just about any pocket, letting the power of 8.0 million
pixels to be taken anywhere. In addition to the superb
resolution, a bright 3x optical zoom enhances shooting
flexibility by allowing users to close in on far away
subjects. And ensuring easy framing plus exciting
viewing of images, the camera is equipped with a 230,000
pixel, 6.4cm LCD.
Thanks to BrightCapture Technology, night time
shooting is improved and framing is significantly easier
with a high-contrast LCD that’s up to 4x brighter than
conventional screens. Also enhancing overall image
quality is a special Digital Image Stabilisation Edit
function. It compensates for blurry images caused by
camera shake or moving subject to ensure good results
even if shooting under difficult conditions.
To help users get the most out of virtually any
photographic opportunity, a choice of 20 scene modes,
including Sports, Landscape and Portrait, ensures the
camera automatically adjusts to the best settings for
the corresponding situation. Meanwhile, for more
experienced photographers, a Histogram function provides
a convenient way to evaluate exposure levels both during
framing and playback.
The µ (mju) 810 impresses in terms of usability too,
offering a Guide Function explaining the various menu
choices directly on the LCD. A movie function with sound
that records sequences in high-quality resolution is
also included. In addition to the internal data storage,
the camera possesses an xD-Picture Card slot – which is
also compatible with the new Olympus High Speed cards
that have data transfer rates 2-3 times faster than
conventional cards.
