The R8/R9 adjuster Focusing screens are made of highly transparent plastic, and on their undersides are molded as Fresnel lenses in order to ensure uniform illumination of the entire image field. With the supplied tweezers they can be inserted easily into the folding frame above the reflex mirror of the LEICA R8/R9.
