The EOS 3000N combines simplicity with elegance, offering enhanced operability as well as a new sophisticated design. In addition to features such as AEB, E-TTL autoflash metering, manual focusing point selection and a Night Scene Mode, which allows the user to capture the shot that they require.
The EOS 3000N uses a wide-area three-point focusing system, displayed in the viewfinder, allowing the user to select each of the focusing points and switch by automatic or manual selection. The three-point focusing system also allows off-centre subjects to be captured perfectly.
Exposure metering is performed using 6-zone evaluative metering, partial metering at centre, or centre weighted averaging metering system. In addition, manual exposure correction (+/-2 stops) is available.
With Canon's EOS dedicated external speedlites, E-TTL autoflash metering is made possible. This system uses the camera's evaluative metering sensors for the flash reading. Together with the three focusing points that are linked to E-TTL, it is possible to illuminate subjects with the correct exposure, even if these are to the left or right or centre of the frame.
AEB is also provided, allowing users to shoot three frames in rapid succession from -2 to +2 stop increments. For difficult lighting situations, this gives users the opportunity to take perfectly exposed shots.
The EOS 3000N uses the familiar Canon command dial for the easy selection of operating modes. It offers five PIC modes, which include Portrait, Landscape, Close-up and Sports. A full auto mode provides general settings to suit most subjects.
